OUR MISSION
Educate, Integrate, Activate
FemmSouth was initially founded as a book club in 2016, but have since grown into a podcast, community, activist group, and now a Nonprofit 501(c)(3). Our mission has three components: to support transformation by learning in community and integrating intersectional feminist theory into practice, to uplift southern voices in various feminist and social justice movements, and to empower people by providing resources and accurate information about reproductive rights.
We support each other by creating a visible community presence and connecting like-hearted groups and individuals. We have already created impactful relationships and featured on our podcast members from several local and national organizations to include the YellowHammer Fund, ACLU, Alabama Coalition for Adolescent Sexual Health (ACASH). West Alabama Women's Center, Spiritual Alliance of Communities for Reproductive Dignity (SACReD), Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), Better Life Lab at New America, Prism United, Color Eastern Shore with Pride (CESP), One Mobile, Stand Up Mobile, Focus Women, Alabama League of Women Voters, and Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH), and the Baldwin County Dems (BCD).
